Regulation and Behaviour at Merstone School

Merstone School encompasses a variety of ethos' and strategies that supports the regulation of our pupils. Staff are proactive in their approaches and review strategies that are in place for all pupils on a consistent basis. Behaviour lead, Georgia Travers, holds regular whole-school, department and individual class meetings to support the school's behaviour management and regulation approaches. Staff are trained and coached using the Team Teach approach as well as Restorative Practices, Trauma-Informed practice, Nurture UK, Protective Behaviours and our SMILE ethos, to ensure pupils are safe and supported during their time at Merstone School. Families and carers are key in supporting the development, regulation and behaviour of their child, as collaborative approaches work best. Having clear communication with the class teacher and behaviour lead are essential in supporting our pupils, their learning and also accessing the wider community. Please contact the main office to make an appointment if you would like to discuss your child's regulation and/or behaviour and what is in place for them whilst at school. Further information can be found below through our school's regulation (formally behaviour) policy, Team Teach Family information and also upon request through meetings with Georgia Travers.
